KMS California's Haley Welling Honored as New Talent Of The Year at the 2009 Hair Magazine Awards

Many congratulations to Hayley Welling, Artistic Director of Ciente salon in Berkhamsted, who won this year’s KMS California New Talent Award at the Hair Magazine Awards,

Hayley was recognised for her artistic talents, passion, drive and presentation skills, competing against an impressive portfolio of entrants. She had to present a model to a panel of industry experts at The KMS Academy, after submitting her photographic image and profile of why she should win this award.

Introducing Hayley Welling: I began my career in hairdressing at the age of 16. Trisha Buller (salon owner) is the lady I need to thank for giving me my first taste of this industry which I love with a passion. All the opportunities of entering competitions, photo shoots, and being on stage presenting have been down to the full support of Trisha and Ciente.

I always feel the drive and excitement to enter different awards, but The KMS New Talent Award was one that jumped out from the rest, I loved the fact once you got to the Final 5 you had to give a 15 minute presentation. To me that meant the judges behind this award cared about you, and your background as well as seeing your hands-on work of the model we had to present.

Winning the New Talent Of The Year Award means everything to me! It’s the best feeling to be recognised in the industry that I love, and it makes all the hard work worth while. You will definitely be seeing more of me next year. Thoughts for the future? Continuing to enjoy and put all my hard work into this industry, relishing every opportunity that is put my way, and who knows maybe one day British Hairdresser Of The Year! Watch this space!
